The Poor Knights of Christ, aka the Knights Templar, were among the most feared of the warrior monks in the era of the Crusades. Founded in Jerusalem in 1118, they ultimately became the most powerful of the military orders, until they were suppressed and destroyed in 1307 by the French king. This sword evokes those carried by these knights. A hand-and-a-half pattern, it sports a double-edged blade 33 inches long, and brass pommel and guard. Large, but well-balanced, it comes equipped with a wooden sheath covered in red leather with a brass drag tip, and an authentic sword belt.

Small Swords were all the rage in the 18th Century, and were frequently carried to court, hence the name of this blade.
