Antiqued Version Details of "Grotesque Masque" decoration "Andria Farara"

The Officers' Backsword is equipped with a single edge blade 34 inches long, and inscribed with the trademark "Andria Farara", one of the many spelling variations of "Andrea Ferara". The authentically sized basket of brushed steel, displays a "grotesque masque" on opposing front panels. The buff leather liner with red cloth exterior and pommel fringe set this fine sword apart. It comes equipped with a leather covered sheath and brushed steel throat and drag tip. The original of this sword is said to date from the late 17th century.
This sword is now available in an "antiqued" version with aged basket and liner and
a buff leather sheath. Very good effect at the same low price.

Economy
A handsome sword at a reasonable price. The fullered carbon steel blade is 32 ½ “ long. The ornate brass basket is lined with red wool. Comes with a polished steel scabbard with two rings for hanging from a waist belt or baldric. These swords, in the past, have always come to us with a broad blade, i.e. double edged. The last two shipments we received were backswords, i.e. single edged. The sheath on these latest swords has a different style drag tip from what is shown here. The basket, liner, etc. are the same. They are still good looking swords at an excellent price, but we wanted to advise you of this change, which may or may not be temporary.
Mid-Priced
The basket is bright steel with a red cloth lining. The heavy-duty blade is fullered for most of its length. The sheath is bright steel, without hanging rings, so you will want a baldric with plain frog if you plan to carry this sword.
